“we go by dark stairways
to the vaults of your soil” – sailors’ ode
Some tales from the realm of cerebria. This is a work of 12 plates and 3 word pieces from 2020. Watercolours, found images, digital painting and word/instrumental pieces with audio.
Here is a clavis, or key, to the realm. You can also see the folio postcards from cerebria, from earlier in 2020.
1Many tales have been told of the early years of cerebria, when the three voids made frequent visits. 2Who can comprehend the wealth of wisdom our forbears received in those times? 3Who can comprehend the deep compassion and the dour rigour of the voids? 4Our past generations were opened, flayed, challenged – and grieved for their old safe ways – and feared for the future and how they would live in accord with the tenets of the voids. 5Some of these tales were written down and were illustrated. 6Samples found their way into a small folio.
